Nicolás Kliwadenko (Chile, 1986) is a composer, computer musician, and improviser specializing in the systematization of creative methodologies that integrate fixed structural frameworks with open, spontaneous responses. He also works with unconventional applications of digital technology and their impact on musical practice in its entirety. His output ranges from solo pieces to ensemble works, incorporating both improvisation and traditional notation, with or without electronics.

He is a founding member of the collective Taller Ciclo, where he has participated regularly as a composer and performer since 2011. He has also collaborated closely with acclaimed performers and ensembles such as Josué Amador, Diego Castro Magas, Andrea Escobar, Karina Fischer, Paola Muñoz, Altera Inde, Duo Ekla, the Moscow Contemporary Music Ensemble, and the Sonology Electroacoustic Ensemble. His music has been presented internationally, including at the World New Music Days (International Society for Contemporary Music).

Kliwadenko studied composition primarily with Cristian Morales Ossio and continued his studies at the University of Chile and the Royal Conservatoire of The Hague, where he received the Konrad Boehmer Prize for his thesis on contingency in creative practices. Some of his scores have been published by Cayambis Music Press, and his work—both as a composer and improviser—has been recorded and released on various independent and specialized labels.

He is currently a Research Associate at the Institute of Sonology in The Hague.
